Overview

NPCC activities are organized into Program Areas. The Regional Entity Division includes Program Areas for Standards, Reliability Assessment and Performance Analysis (RAPA), Compliance, and Situational Awareness and Infrastructure Security (SAIS). The Criteria Services Division focuses on NPCC Regional Criteria.

Standards & Criteria

Standards & Criteria

NPCC creates Regional Standards to enhance the reliability of the international, interconnected bulk power system in Northeastern North America. NPCC also creates Regionally specific reliability criteria that are necessary to implement, to augment, or to comply with NERC Reliability Standards, but which are not Reliability Standards.

Compliance

Compliance

The mission of NPCC is to comprehensively monitor and enforce compliance with NERC and NPCC Regional Reliability Standards among all users, owners, and operators of the Bulk Electric System in the NPCC Region.

Reliability Assessment & Performance Analysis (RAPA)

Reliability Assessment & Performance Analysis (RAPA)

NPCC, through its top technical committee, the Reliability Coordinating Committee, integrates the deliverables of its Task Force’s and Working Group’s RAPA activities.

Situation Awareness & Infrastructure Security (SAIS)

Situation Awareness & Infrastructure Security (SAIS)

The SAIS Program is the combination of near real-time awareness of conditions on the bulk power system with the programs necessary to increase the physical and cyber security of the electricity infrastructure.
