NPCC conducts compliance monitoring and enforcement activities in accordance with the New Brunswick Electricity Act (S.N.B. 2013, c.7), New Brunswick Regulation 2013-66, a Contract for Service between NPCC and the New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board (NBEUB), and a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the NBEUB, NERC, and NPCC. Serious risk violations, intentional violations, or significant compliance failures are processed as a Notice of Penalty (NOP) or through a settlement agreement. The Find, Fix, Track and Report (FFT) process is available for lower risk Potential Violations.
The NBEUB’s Reliability and Compliance website provides information about Reliability Standards in New Brunswick, specifically the Compliance Registry, Compliance Monitoring, Enforcement, and the Annual Implementation Plan.
Registered Entities in New Brunswick should be using the NBEUB’s Compliance Monitoring and Reporting System to submit self-reports of Potential Violations with NERC Reliability Standards to NPCC.
