On an ongoing, near real- time basis, NPCC Situation Awareness monitors the operational status of the Northeastern North America bulk power system and coordinates normal and pre-emergency communication, awareness and assistance in addition to the same during an emergency among the Reliability Coordinators within NPCC and its neighboring RCs. Furthermore, NPCC Situation Awareness collects and analyzes information on system disturbances and other incidents that have an impact to the bulk power system and disseminates this information to internal departments, registered entities, ERO Enterprise partners, and governmental agencies, as necessary.
