DER Forum

Distributed Energy Resources (DER), also referred to as distributed generation, distributed energy, grid-edge resources, on-site generation or district/decentralized energy, is electrical generation and energy storage performed by a variety of small distribution system connected devices. NPCC’s activities involve identification of any impacts due to increased proliferation of DER, optimizing the grid services and reliability they provide, promoting awareness and providing a forum to share information and coordinate DER related activities across the NPCC footprint. NPCC also works closely with NERC and other NERC Regions in order to share experiences, issues, information and opportunities related to the reliably integrate increasing levels of DER. NPCC conducts DER Forums throughout the year as needed. NPCC DER Forums are open to anyone wishing to participate.
