Compliance Announcement: NPCC 2022 Continued Focus on FAC-008 Facility Ratings

In 2022, NPCC and the ERO will continue to focus on the BES risk posed by registered entity issues with FAC-008 Facility Ratings.

Specific NPCC activities:

• FAC-008 will be included on all GO/TO 2022 audits
• FAC-008 self-certifications with evidence will be conducted on a subset GO/TOs
• FAC-008 awareness messaging and communications will be provided to all GO/TOs

The existence of mature internal controls is the key to the sustainability of a registered entity’s Facility Ratings program. Registered entities should develop or continue approaches for an FAC-008 self-assessment and risk-based prioritization.
