NPCC GO/GOP Questions on Cold Weather Practices, Preparedness, and Risk Mitigation

Although the recently FERC approved Cold Weather Reliability Standards are not enforceable until April 1, 2023, the ERO Enterprise has developed a CMEP Practice Guide for Cold Weather Preparedness to provide advance guidance to CMEP Staff and the entities on ERO expectations for understanding entity risk, practices, and controls relative to cold weather preparedness.

NPCC is recommending that all GO/GOPs perform a proactive self-assessment using the GO/GOP questions from the CMEP Practice Guide to gauge themselves on the existence and mitigation of risk relative to cold weather preparedness.
